On 25th June 2021, The Heritage School, Kolkata, celebrated its Foundation Day, marking the completion of 20 years of excellence in education. To make the moment significant and momentous, the School organised its 19th Annual Prize Day Distribution Ceremony virtually.
The Annual Prize Day Distribution Ceremony was graced by Mr. Dilip Surkar, Executive Director, Vikram A Sarabhai Community Science Centre and Mr. Shashank Vira, Educationist, Partner, The Hearth Advisors as the Guests of Honour for the event.
The day also witnessed the launch of four innovative programmes which will be offered by the School in the new academic session as a part of value additions to the existing curriculum. The programmes were:
The Articulate Ensemble - a language enrichment programme to create a strong Foundation for English Language,
Enigma - an E-science magazine which consisted of handpicked theories and discoveries that intrigued mankind,
Sansmaran - the school story down the memory lane since its inception to the current year sharing all the wonderful moments,
Samvedana - a psychological counselling programme to support students and their parents
Girl Up - an initiative which was started by United Nations Foundation in 2010 to support every Girl child.
During the event, Mr. Dilip Surkar shared some of the magical inventions of Science and Technology which will help the students to appreciate the subject. Adding to this, Mr. Surkar also cited various examples to raise the curiosity levels of the students and requested the teachers to organise more programmes and events related to science so that students get ample inspiration to make a career in Science & Technology.
Mr. Shashank Vira shared some of the latest educational innovations in School education which are coming up in the future to increase the depth of experiential learning. The current Covid-19 pandemic had made the students remain within the four walls at home and these innovations will help Schools to rediscover themselves so that they can sustain and strengthen further the connect with the students.
The entire programme was organised virtually and witnessed a huge participation from the students and parents. During the Programme, Shri Vikram Swarup, Chairman, School Managing Committee, The Heritage School recalled some of the nostalgic moments since the inception of the School.
Shri H.K.Chaudhary, Chairman, Heritage Group of Institutions spoke about the vision of the Group starting from School Education to Higher Education and beyond. The other Trustee members of the School also congratulated the teachers, students, parents and staff virtually for their efforts in creating a ‘School with a Difference’ thus celebrating this momentous occasion. The students also experienced the Virtual Prize Distribution Ceremony for which they had been waiting for a long time.

Moreover these programmes will also help us to rediscover and reimagine our School education after completion of 20 years making this moment memorable for the future,” said Ms. Seema Sapru, Principal, The Heritage School, Kolkata.

The programme was also addressed by Ms. Runa Chatterjee, Headmistress, The Heritage School, Mr. Darryl Christopher Christensen, Headmaster of The Heritage School, parents of the School and teachers.
